The Tulip Coat is a uniform width in the body and across the hips. It is meant to fit loosely. For best fit, choose a size that is slightly larger than your body circumference at the widest part. E.g. if your hips measure 43", then it is best to select size Medium.

This Once & Gone Forever item is a sample of the Tulip Coat in Size Small, made out of our regular Natural french terry fabric. The final Tulip Coat product is made with an uncombed cotton, which is coarser on the front side and gives a stiffer drape. This sample was made to test the Tulip Coat in our regular french terry, which is a combed cotton, and much softer. Ultimately, we decided that the soft and supple combed cotton wasn't what we wanted for the Tulip Coat.
We were still playing with the design of the arm slits in this version, which definitely didn't work with the soft fabric, so we closed those seams up for this sample, so that it was more wearable. The Tulip Coat in the soft french terry results in the garment looking more like a super cozy artsy oversized zippered sweatshirt, and less like the structured statement coat we were going for.
We will probably do more with the tulip style in this soft fabrication in the future -- Tulip Hoodie? But for now, this is the only one of its kind. Size Small as per the size chart.
We created this painterly coat as a outerwear piece with elegant oversized renaissance inspired sleeves and long front zipper.

This coat features a special heavyweight uncombed 100% cotton french terry. It is super soft on the inside and has a stiffer drape than our usual french terry, which makes it perfect for this structured coat.
Rib is a matching 95% cotton, 5% lycra. All of our fabric is washed and dried at high temperatures prior to cut and sew, for maximum shrinkage removal. All of our fabric is made in Canada.
